Avcom, Inc. was founded in 1969 by James A Umstead Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. Avcom Inc. is a manufacturer rep firm covering Ohio, Western PA, West Virginia and adjoining counties in Kentucky. In 1982 Jim Sr. moved to Phoenix, AZ and established Avwest, Inc. When he moved, Jim Sr. turned the Avcom reins over to James A. Umstead Jr.

Avcom is dedicated in servicing systems contractors in the Commercial Sound, Pro Audio, Healthcare and Security Industries.
